All of them started bobbing their heads slightly till they had found a huge pile of delicious fruits where no one was going to look after it.So each of them jumped on the huge bunch of fruits and started pecking and licking on it and after a while, the entire bunch was destructed. Finally, when the employees and manager came and started guessing for the victim, the cell phone of the manager ranged and the guard informed that he had found a fruit box with some magpies in it.So when the manager got those magpies, he behaved them in a sense that it was sufficient to teach them a lesson on their ungratefulness. The story is very fruitful for the children who show ungratefulness to parents on what they have and to let them know the fact that all that glitters in not gold.

Edwards takes the places that should feel safe and subverts them, shifting the ground beneath our feet, until we’re left clinging to the book, hoping against hope for a positive conclusion. There’s something deeply unsettling about The Magpies—and that’s exactly as it should be.” —Elizabeth Haynes, author of Into the Darkest Corner“The Magpies is absorbing, claustrophobic and terrifying. Read this book! Then get a top notch alarm system fitted in your house.” —Helen Fitzgerald, author of The Cry
